Fresh Luffa
There are two cultivars in Luffa, L.cylindrical and L.acutangula, native to tropical Asia,
introduced into China in the 6th century. Luffa cylindrical, with cylindric fruit, rough skin and
black green stipes, free of ribs, excellent quality. Luffa acutargula, with cylindic fruit with 8～12
ribs, black green colored, tender and fine pulp.
